Happy birthday, Rob!

Rob's birthday was yesterday, and it was Trad'r Sam Day, so we went out to XYZ bar (where I drank a fantastic Cranberry soda...). It was a fun time, but by the time 11:30 rolled around, I had run out of steam. It's sad, really, and Andy is clearly disappointed.

Getting ready for baby

We have a small apartment that is quite full, and we're going to attempt to put another person and all of his/her stuff in here with us, so we're trying to get organized. The office, which has two desks, a TV, an exercise bike, a bookcase, a CD rack, and some other stuff will become a nurffice; that is a nursery-office hybrid. We've actually already moved the bookcase to the living room, so we're on our way! We needed to get some kitchen shelving that was bigger and sturdier than what we had been using, so we did that this weekend. The first picture shows the new shelves assembled, but empty, in front of the old shelves. Here, the new shelves are in place and full of stuff from all over the apartment. Ahh, I love organization! Even though we did this a few weeks ago, notice how nice and organized the cookbooks are on the kitchen bookshelf! Slowly, but surely, the baby will have a place to live in our home!

The key to more blogging

is in this camera. My dear husband has let me use his camera for a long, long time now, but I finally broke down and purchased a digital camera of my very own. Now, I won't have to pester him to move the pictures off of his camera and onto our network so I can post. Not that all of my posts have to include pictures, but really, who doesn't like stories with pictures?

Shortie's Christmas Loot

Given that Shortie hasn't even been born yet, he/she did an excellent job scoring gifts from the Grandparents! Way to go, Shortie!

Shortie on Christmas

Here's a photo to mark how big Shortie was on Christmas 2007.

Merry Christmas!

Here we are in front of our tree. The tree is a little short, so it's kind of hard to see when we're standing in front of it, but it's there.

Oh Christmas Tree

My darling husband assembled our Christmas tree this year, since it's covered in lead. He did a wonderful job! We found this snowlady ornament at Gumps to help commemorate this special time in our lives. Next Christmas, we'll have a 9 month old to help with the tree. Maybe we'll get a live tree...

Birthday friends

Happy birthday, Thomas!

It's actually been a couple of weeks since Thomas's birthday, but I'm so slow at posting... We had two parties - one at our house on a Saturday night, and one dinner party at Incanto on the actual day. Incanto is an Italian restaurant in Noe Valley that has excellent food. In early December, Thomas went there with a couple of friends to enjoy the Fifth Quarter menu, which features the parts of animals that normally aren't eaten. Mmmm. When we went for his birthday, we enjoyed a "normal" menu, and it was great. In my opinion, the highlight of the Saturday party was the screaming rabbit. I'm not sure how we got on the topic of screaming rabbits, but we did, and Steve found a video of one on YouTube. Initially, I was horrified, and didn't want to hear it. But when I realized what was going on, I had to admit it was pretty funny. We must have listened to that rabbit 30 times. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc8kx2u9TmM HeeHee.
