As you can see, we have to keep a close eye on her.

Two weeks

It's hard to believe that Shortie is two weeks old today. Here is a picture of Shortie at two weeks old, with her daddy: And here is a picture of Lorrie at two weeks old with her daddy:

Night-night

The nighttime ritual includes cuddle time with daddy while mommy gets ready for bed. Isn't she sweet?? Too bad she doesn't stay so cozy all night long...

Don't be fooled. She'll be screaming at 3am.

Not so sleepy

Shortie has become significantly less sleepy as of late. She is much
harder to put to bed, and she I'd entirely too fond of staying up once
she has awoken. Sigh...

Yes, they do make baby sunglasses.

Birth info

A few folks have asked for more detailed info about Shortie, so we
wanted to clarify why we weren't posting it. We want to leave this
blog open to the public, so that our friends and family can read about
her easily. But in doing so, everything we post is available to the
whole world. Given that, we're not going to use her real name or give
too much identifying info about her, so that years down the road she
doesn't have to deal with random strangers knowing too much about her.

If you want more details, drop us an email. We love talking about
Shortie.

So very tired...

Our pleasant sleepy baby apparently is nocturnal. After being fed in
the night, she wants to be held until she falls asleep. This is
terribly sweet, but not at 3am.

Doctor

We had our first peds visit today, and Shortie did well. She's above
her birth weight, which is uncommon and excellent.

AirplaneGirl and I both have had some instances of parent brain, as we
forget key rjings, but we're dealing well all in all.

Home sweet home

We're all back home now, which is wonderful, but we're all also exhausted. It's odd to have Shortie on the outside with us, as we've both grown so used to her as something living in Lorrie's belly. Now she's something living in our apartment, which is a transition not normally made.

Thanks to everyone for their support and well wishes. We'll start being social soon, and you'll all get a chance to meet her, but for now, we're just going to try to sleep. :)
I'm becoming quite practiced at changing diapers for Nicole. Unfortunately it seems that she likes to go to the bathroom when I'm doing so and she has the power and aim to hit me.

Off to the hospital...

The title says it all. :)

Maybe baby 2?

The contractions are regular now, and about 10 minutes apart. Perhaps
soon...
We're nearing the 24 hour mark for this round of contractions, but
it's still not clear if they will peter out or yield a baby. We'll
keep you posted.
Although it seems to love pounding the crap out of Lorrie's womb, the baby has not arrived yet. We are both very tired...

To lift your spirits, here is a cartoon about babies:

As I know that you are all eagerly checking here for baby news, here's an update: no baby yet. In all fairness, the official due date isn't until tomorrow, so we're still in the first half of the likely delivery window. But... tomorrow we'll be entering the second half. Come on Moral, it's time to be born...
