Little walker!
Shortie has been walking with assistance for a couple of months now, and I was beginning to wonder if she would ever walk on her own. She seemed perfectly happy to hold our hand (or hands, depending on her mood) to get around, but finally, on Thursday 4/16, she started fully walking on her own. She actually started out running, but learned that that wasn't really sustainable, since she would run for about six steps and fall. Once she got over the excitement of it all, she slowed down and began walking.

Shortie's first birthday!
We had a great birthday party (even though we were sad to be without some people), and Shortie loved every minute of it. She was so happy - and she said (in baby sign) "thank you" to each person who gave her a gift. So adorable!! Here are some shots and videos of the big day.
