Apple picking!

We headed up to Placerville (also known as Hangtown because they used to hang people there...) for apple picking a couple of weekends ago. It wasn't quite like my experiences from growing up, but we had a good time. Once we found some apples to pick...

Happy Halloween!

It's a good thing that Shortie wore her costume to my work Halloween party yesterday, and to the California Avenue trick-or-treating this afternoon, because once the sun went down and the jack-o-lanterns were lit, Shortie did not want to wear her costume. Which worked out fine, because we didn't get one trick-or-treater. Maybe all the neighborhood kiddies knew that we were giving away Play-doh, crayons, stickers and playing cards instead of Snickers and Sweet-tarts. Oh well. We had a fun Halloween anyway. Here are some shots of Shortie in festive clothes, and in her official costume, a dragon. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Patch

Here are some shots of Shortie at the pumpkin patch. She's all over the place these days so it's getting more and more difficult to get a decent picture of her. In the end, we came home with two big pumpkins for carving, three little pumpkins for looking at, and three little pumpkins for eating. Braised pork with pumpkin, anyone? I love fall!! In other exciting news -- we bought a potty for Shortie today. There likely won't be any photos of that, but you never can tell! Shortie finds the pumpkin she wants: Shortie thinks pumpkin patches are fun! Shortie would like to take this little pumpkin home:
