Who knows...

Things seem to have calmed down, so we're not really sure when little Moral is coming.

The only thing we are sure of is that it is a crafty little fetus, always keeping us guessing. I suspect we'll wake one morning and just find it in its crib, along with a bunch of toys we've never seen before and a pile of money.

Crafty little fetus...

Maybe baby?

At 5:30 this morning, Lorrie began getting contractions. They have continued since then and are picking up steam. It's still very possible that this is another round of false labor, but we shall see. We'll post more details here as we know them.

No baby yet.

As you can see, we've not yet had the baby.

Quite a week

Thomas here again. Lorrie and I have had quite a week. Twice in the wee hours of the morning, we thought little moral was going to arrive, but both times the contractions calmed down and didn't progress to actual labor. Of course, we both didn't get much sleep those nights.

We're trying to convince the little tyke that it doesn't want to come until after mommy and daddy are awake and moving around, but who knows if it'll listen.

Greetings from Thomas! Moralshortie hasn't arrived yet, but we've now got it set up so we can post pictures here from the hospital when he or she makes an appearance. We both think it's close, though, so stay tuned over the next week.

Update

No baby, yet. I'm at the end of my third week of pre-partum maternity leave, and I've done most of the things on my to-do list, and a few things that I wasn't planning. So now we're just waiting. My mom is scheduled to visit in two weeks, and I hope there is a baby for her to meet!

Baby pool

Here are our current guesses for when the baby will come...

Nurffice

I've mentioned a few times that we will be creating a nurffice - a nursery-office hybrid- for our baby, because we live in a small apartment and we need both a nursery and an office. Until recently, the office was the room in our house that received the least amount of love. We piled everything that didn't have a home into the office! When people visited, we hid all the "extra" stuff from around the apartment in here. It was quite full. Here are some pictures of the office; before.
The view from the door - Lorrie's desk, a bookcase and some boxes.
Thomas's desk, the TV and the bike
The bike, the CDs and the closet
Now, the nurffice is ready to go! We worked really hard to consolidate down to one desk, and incorporate baby furniture into the room. We still have a few cosmetic things to do, but if the baby came today, we'd be fine! Yay for the nurffice!

Happy Anniversary/Baby Moon

Thomas and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary, our 4th dating anniversary, and took our Baby-Moon in Half Moon Bay. We decided we wanted to get away, but stay close, and HMB was the perfect location. We had a couple of wonderful meals and lounged around. It was great. It was also the calm before the storm. The following week, we kicked it into overdrive and really got the nurffice into shape. The view from our room My sweetheart!

Valentine's day

Thomas and I don't usually celebrate Valentine's day because we have a wedding and dating anniversary in February, so adding another holiday - let alone a Hallmark one - doesn't really make sense. But Shortie shouldn't be left out, right?

Preparing for our civic duty

Thomas and I usually forget to read the ballot measures until the night before (or the morning of) the election. This year, we were determined to understand what was going on before we got to the polls. So... three days before the election we gathered some friends to go over the ballot. Here, Andy, Jess and Brad contemplate what Steve has to say, while Nate checks out his manicure. Here, Thomas tries to persuade the group that building an International Peace Center on Alcatraz really does make sense for the city of San Francisco. Here's where I got bored of listening to the smart people talk about the future of our city, state and country, and took a picture of what's occupying most of my thoughts lately.

Cupcakes and cocktails

Just to point out how long it's been since we've updated this blog, here are some pictures from another birthday party that we attended in JANUARY! Jess turned 30, and we celebrated at Cantina, where the cocktails are great - so I hear - but the service is slow. While waiting for our orders, we nibbled on yummy cupcakes made by the birthday girl herself. Thomas loves cupcakes!
